U.S.-based fintech giant Payoneer has marked a major milestone in its global expansion strategy by acquiring China-based payment service provider, Easylink Payment.
With this acquisition, Payoneer became only the third foreign payment platform licensed to provide online payment services in China—an achievement that underscores a significant regulatory breakthrough in the cross-border payments landscape.
Payoneer CEO John Caplan commented on the deal, stating it will enable the company to “better serve customers with enhanced and localized solutions.”
With licenses across key markets including the UK, U.S., EU, India, Japan, Australia, and Hong Kong, Payoneer now operates in over 190 countries and supports 70+ currencies, further cementing its position as a global leader in digital payments.
